accumulated points in each of the three categories determine the final rankings. There are no rankings for the teams as in a traditional league structure. As with all Athletes Unlimited sports leagues, the volleyball scoring system needed to be developed in such a way that it satisfied three guiding principles: simplicity, accuracy, and parity.
In volleyball, the team who scores the game-winning point must always be winning by two. When a team scores 25, if they are not leading by 2 points, the game continues until one team is winning by a two-point lead. So it’s very common to see a final score of 26-24 or 27-25.
The last set goes up to 15 points and a team must have a two point lead to win the set. With sideout scoring, all sets are played up to 15 points and the team must at least have a two point lead. Some organizations say that the first team to win 17 points wins the set, so in this case the two point margin is not needed.
FIVB’s VIS is used to calculate points scored for individual skills of volleyball players. The players who win seven different categories for particular skills are rewarded with the Most Valuable Player (MVP) title at the end of a tournament.
The player you select as the Captain of your fantasy team will be given 2x points of the original total it scores. The players chosen as the Vice-captain of your fantasy team will be awarded points as 1.5x of the original total it acquires. The players are awarded starting points on the basis of the announcements made regarding their inclusion in the playing team for the game.

Compare the win-loss-tie record of common opponents of the tied schools using 5 points for a win, 2.5 points for a tie, 0 points for a loss. Compare the win-loss-tie records of the regular season contest for each tied school that were used to determine the rankings (using the point system described above).
A set is played to 25 points, with points being awarded from each rally (also called a rally-point system). Teams must win by two points to win the set; in the case of a tie at 24 points each, for example, a team would have to win 26-24.

Players will be given individual points for “winning” each inning or set, per USA Today. They’ll also get points for their individual statistics, just as in fantasy football.
